Improving learner and life outcomes through access to rich resources

All staff and students at our partner universities have access to our high quality student engagement portal. It is presented as a rich resource provided by their institution and some elements can be customised to suit the needs of each partner.

Our Student Engagement Portal focuses on the fundamental pillars of student support:

STUDY SKILLS

Our portal will help students to develop as independent learners, understanding the skills relevant to the level they are working at and the range of academic assignments they are expected to produce. Academic experts in the field provide content about the tried and tested as well as innovative approaches to learning skills.

We also ask our academic experts to run regular live online events and we provide a library of recorded events to support the digital content.

Our portal will help students to develop and maintain good mental health and wellbeing. Content is provided by partner Student Minds, the leading student mental health charity. The focus is on raising student awareness, building resilience and getting more support.

The site also features student peers sharing thoughts and experiences and there is a regular programme of online events.

Engagement Partners
and Student Ambassadors

Engagement Partners are at the heart of our service delivery on all schemes. Every university has a paid JS Group Engagement Partner with a high profile presence on campus. In turn, they employ, train and pay local Student Ambassadors. Together, they ensure that students get maximum benefit from all the services available and partners get maximum value for money they invest.

Engagement Partners and their Student Ambassadors have local knowledge and expertise. They act as a customer service point for students and staff, offering deep and detailed insight & advice. They tailor what’s on offer to suit the needs of the institution, working with faculty, student services, the library, senior management and other stakeholders to help students get what they need to flourish.

Our portal allows students to:

Find and purchase recommended resources for their course and a wide range of goods to help them make the most of their time at university. We ensure that recommended course resources and items that help students are available.

The commercial team at JS Group can source any item and the most popular categories for students are digital equipment, books, stationery & office, sports & fitness, home items, branded goods and nursing and medical equipment.

Access significant HE Information, Advice & Guidance. Full of inspiration, encouragement and fresh insight, its purpose is to boost learner and life outcomes.

Content is generated by a mix of expert creators and curators (STUDENT MINDS, LYNNE CONDELL, ANNA GORDON) as well as student voices relevant to all students by year.

It is designed to be holistic and connected within the site as well as to signpost to relevant, high quality, content elsewhere.
