JS Group is delighted to announce that it has been chosen as the implementation partner for University College Birmingham’s (UCB) new Kick-Start scheme.
UCB has developed the scheme to kick-start studies and future careers by improving the access students have to the tools and resources needed for their studies. The scheme provides students with the funds they need to purchase items that benefit their learning and support their time at UCB.
Each eligible student will receive £300 for each year of study with students from lower income households receiving an additional £500 per year. These funds can be used to purchase resources recommended for the wide range of courses offered at UCB and on catering, SU clubs and societies and other on campus services. Students on selected courses will also be provided with a tablet preloaded with programme specific resources.
Commenting on this new partnership, Peter Gray, Chairman and CEO of JS Group, said:
“We are tremendously excited to be working with UCB with their focus on vocational courses, strong links to industry and commitment to employability. The Kick-Start scheme is a great way to support student learning and commitment. We are delighted that UCB have chosen our Aspire Engage solution to operate this scheme. Aspire Engage provides the technology platform to run the scheme, an online student store where students can get their resources and an on campus team to help drive student engagement – all backed-up with detailed analysis so the scheme’s impact can be evaluated.”
