JS Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Porter to its Strategic Advisory Board.
Aaron brings exceptional knowledge of higher education governance and policy, together with strong sector and government connections. His portfolio career spans multiple senior advisory and board roles across higher education, professional services and the not-for-profit sector.
He currently serves as Chair of BPP University, Deputy Chair of Goldsmiths, University of London, and leads a national development programme for university boards and councils on behalf of Advance HE. To date, he has conducted governance effectiveness reviews for over 50 UK universities.
Beyond higher education, Aaron is a Non-Executive Director of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, a member of the council of a statutory healthcare regulator, and trustee of a London theatre.
Earlier in his career, Aaron was President of the National Union of Students, during the landmark debate on tuition fees, and has served on the boards of UCAS, the Higher Education Academy, Endsleigh Insurance, the Office of the Independent Adjudicator and the Council of the University of Leicester.
Aaron’s deep sector expertise and network will play a vital role in supporting JS Group’s mission to help universities transform the delivery & impact of financial support, improving student outcomes & drive social mobility.
